Bubblegum and ancient Rome.
The grandest of the awards in the local Sterk Reklame contest is a very physical ceramic version of the 3d-illustration used on the general awards diploma. We were asked if it was possible to recreate the drawing in ceramic materials, and well, it was! The ancient Roman column is made from a very very coarse clay, in stark contrast to the inflated-looking colourful porcelain top.
The original 3d-illustration which is used on the general awards diplomas.
The top is made from two bowls joined together, creating the inflated bubblegum-ish look.
The finished (but unfired and not at all glazed) award!
We performed various colours tests to achieve the right result.
We do our best to match our outfits to the things we are making.
